I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I have to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! In 2019, Border Models became a new player in the industry and has made a strong statement with their first armor releases. They started with the Panzerkampfwagen IV family as their first subjects, and now have released the Tiger I Ausf. E Early as it appeared at the Battle of Kursk. To keep this from being just another Tiger kit, they have packed this release with many options and a pile of fantastic accessories and bonuses, like a metal barrel and smoke launchers. You even get many finely detailed items sculpted by Jason Studio, including legs of pigs, for crying out loud! There are plenty of listings for this kit on eBay (the majority from Asia and Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have it in stock and can reliably ship this kit to you very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web: The bordermodel.com site has a long page for this kit that pictorially shows the features (like anti-infantry barbed wire PE parts, five gun mantlets, PE screens, tons of extra goodies including the pig legs!). From other sources, I have found a lengthy list of tremendous features packed into this outstanding kit. They provide a link to download the complete full-color 25-page instruction sheet and painting guide and many links to reviews, resources and great photo galleries of several nicely finished models. David Nickels posted a very nice In-Box Review on the track-link.com site that shows the parts he was most interested in. There is also a series of Build Log entries that show how he completes his outstanding project. He reserves his comments on the kit for these reviews, but does say: “Overall, the accessories are very clean and sharp. I like the fact that these are regular styrene details and not some strange rubber.” Thomas Hartwig published an informative In-Box Review on the German-language panzer-modell.de site with over three dozen photos of the sprues, hull pieces, decals, PE parts, painting guide and that fantastic metal barrel. He was impressed with the many options to create almost any variant you want and summarizes by saying: “An absolutely successful model with excellent detailing, great option parts, great marking options and beautiful accessories, such as the turned metal parts… For me, this is clearly the best Tiger kit for an early Tiger at the moment.” I found four YouTube video reviews that vary in length from 6 to 34 minutes. The shortest one is from coldemonspl which is narrated with an eastern European accent (with captions). At the end you see the completed, unpainted model. The longest one is in French from Chroniques du Blindages that starts with the instructions before going into the sprues and bonus parts. Andy’s Hobby Headquarters gets one done in under 19 minutes. The last 4 minutes are actually for a 1/72 Leopard kit, so you shouldn’t count those. There is also a 30-minute edition in German by Modellbau-Koenig. If any of those interest you, please look them up. Any of them will give you a good look at the parts in the box. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 15” x 10” x 3.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with tape strips, so it is factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with light grey plastic parts, detailed Link and Length tracks, metal gun barrel and smoke dischargers, photo etched parts and a small set of decals along with many finely detailed accessories, including pig’s legs.
