It contains non-error printing varieties of Scott number 1582 Speaker’s Stand. The tagged and gummed sheet singles are perforated 11 x 10½. The stamps are from the Americana sheet issue, which ran from 1975 to 1981. They bear the important message freedom to speak out – a root of democracy. The Red Brown colored stamps were issued in panes of 100 with one corner plate number and other marginal markings. The rotary press stamps were first issued with shiny gum and then later with dull (dry gum). Untagged mint Bureau precancels are sold separately when available *Scott does not assign minor numbers for dull gum types, but catalogs like Brookman use the letter “v” to denote a variety. We have added the letter v to the number to aid collectors that use Brookman. Experimental dull gum stamps were first released in 1971 to prevent sticking in humid climates. This type of gum is also known by other names including dry gum and matte finish gum.
