1972 Press Photo Javelin AMX w Car Details Listed Below for Upcoming Market Sale PHOTO DESCRIPTION: below reads as: American Motors’ Javelin SST has a new cross hatched grille design and rally stripes for 1972 (top photo) while the Javelin AMX (bottom photo) retains its distinctive mesh grille and rear deck spolier. Bucket seats are standard on both models, with instruments and controls being arranged in a n aircraft-type cockpit. Any one of six American Motors engines -ranging in size from the standard 232 CID six to optional 401 CID V-8 – may be fitted to the AM sporty car. A new smoother shifiting, quieter “Torque-Command” automatic transmission is available with all sixes or V-8’s. The 1972 Javelin and Javelin AMX appear in dealer showrooms in late September.Back reads as: 1972 JAVELIN AMX — American Motors’ Javelin AMX retains its distive mesh grills and rear deck spolier for 1972.
