This guitar is a part of Gibson’s limited-run Custom Shop Edition series, distinguished by the “Custom Shop” decal on the back of the headstock, denoting special-order or limited-edition models produced since the early 1980s. Although it has been played, this Explorer is in great working condition, offering everything you’d expect from a classic Gibson. The body has light scratches, dings, some finish checking, and minor clear coat chipping around the tuning keys. There is also some wear on the back, but these are all natural signs of use that add character without compromising its playability. The plastic pickup bobbins have small cracks—a common issue with vintage pickups—but these are stable and do not impact the guitar’s sound quality. Overall, I’d confidently rate its condition at a solid 7.5 out of 10. The tuners have been upgraded to Gotoh tuners, which are highly reliable and function perfectly. However, there are extra holes on the back of the headstock from the original tuners.
