In 1968, Gibson reintroduced the Les Paul Custom with some important updates. The 1968 model featured a solid maple top on a mahogany back, giving it a unique clarity and bite that distinguished it from earlier versions. Other key updates included two humbuckers instead of three, for improved picking clearance, and a 14-degree peghead angle that reduced string tension, enhancing playability. This 50th Anniversary edition stays true to those groundbreaking features, meticulously recreated by the Gibson Custom Shop to provide an authentic vintage experience.
