THAT ORIGINAL WALBRO 3000 SERIES FUEL PUMP WAS A LITTLE OVERWORKED AT TRYING TO PUMP THE FUEL. THAT WAS BECAUSE IT HAD LESS THAN A QUARTER SIZE DIAPHARGM INSIDETO PULL THE FUEL. THIS IS WHY WALBRO DISCONTINUED MAKING IT. THE OE FUEL PUMP HERE HAS A 5O CENT SIZE DIAPHRAGM INSIDE OF IT TO PULL THAT FUEL FASTER SO THAT IT HAS LESS WEAR AN TEAR ON YOUR STARTER MOTOR ANDWILL EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR BATTERY! OUR OE FUEL PUMP IS MADE OF A POLY RESIN FIBER (NOT CHEAP PLASTIC) THAT HAS A LARGER AND THICKER PIT LINER DIAPHRAGM. YOU CAN ALSO CAREFULLY TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN IT IF NEEDED. EVEN IF THEY DID ACIDENTLY MAKE THE DIAPHRAGM THE RIGHT SIZE, IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK RIGHT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT MAKE THE BRASS BREATHER VENT WITH THE RIGHT AIR FLOW TO ALLOW FOR THE DIAPHRAGM TO BE ABLE TO PUMP THE FUEL!!! 3. THE MATERIAL THAT THEY USED TO MAKE THE DIAPHRAGM IS NOT MADE OF THICK RUBBER AND THE SPRING THEY USED TO PUSH THE DIAPHRAGM BACK WAS MADE TOO STIFF SO THAT IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE ENGINES PISTON TO MAKE THE MOVEMENT OF WHAT THE DIAPHRAGM NEEDS IN ORDER TO PUMP THE FUEL!!!
