Shipment will contain 60+ Powder Orange Isopods(Porcellionides pruinosus) shipped with sphagnum moss inside a 4oz plastic portion cup with lid. There are quite a few variations of substrates that can be used in your bioactive set up. Personally, I like to use a mix of coco fiber, peat moss, sphagnum moss, leaf litter, and flat pieces of driftwood (I ensure all materials have been heat treated to prevent any unwanted hitchhikers). There is a ton of information on Youtube as well as reputable sites on the internet so feel free to do your own research to find what works best for you. It’s always recommended to have at least a 6-qt sterilite plastic storage bin to keep your own isopods and springtail cultures separate from your terrarium/vivarium in order to ensure you have a constant supply for your bioactive set up when needed. One side should be misted and the other side should remain dry. Provide your isopods food as well (plenty of options but I use food specifically for isopods or decaying fruit) and be sure to keep plenty of leaf litter in their bin because they munch on that as well.
