Here we have a 1967 Ford Thunderbird original factory AM-FM radio that I removed from a vehicle many years ago and properly stored. The FoMoCo part number on the side is F7TBS. This is a relatively rare radio not seen for sale very often. I recently bench tested it and determined it to be non-functional so it is being sold as a core radio for repair. It comes complete with a set of original inner and outer control knobs as well as the shaft mounting nuts and lock washers. The optional rear speaker fader switch, which mounts on the RH shaft, is also included. It also has the rear mounting bracket. Overall condition is nice, clean and all original. The chrome pushbuttons and slide bar have some pitting which is common for older pot metal parts. The power and speaker pigtails are clean and uncut. The tuner slides smoothly across the dial with no slipping The preset buttons work. All set and change station locations (these pull out and rotate to set for AM or FM stations) Slide bar toggles freely between AM and FM band location Dial light works. There is no rust on the case. The clear plastic dial is not scratched or cloudy. Color of the dial numbers and pointer is sharp. AM FM radios were quite rare options in the 1960’s and early 1970’s, especially on less expensive cars like Thunderbird. Not very many were made due to the very high cost of the option and limited amount of FM stations in non urban areas. Most of the radios that were produced were tossed out years ago or are already installed in cars. Finding a real deal original 1967 Thunderbird AM FM radio today is quite a task. Don’t miss this real deal factory AM FM radio. To clear up any confusion many Ford AM FM radios from the mid 60’s thru late 70’s will fit the opening of your 1967 Ford Thunderbird however this is the correct one that would have come from the factory (see part number). If you show your car this is the AM FM radio you need to install to be Concours correct.Since this radio is non-functional and has not been serviced recently I will have to sell it ‘as is’ and advise it be professionally serviced to restore the sound quality and reception capability up to original factory specs or these can also be totally converted to modern day specs and features for the discriminating buyer that wants the original radio look combined with up-to-date sound and options.
