This sale is for a P25-8600 optional board manufactured by AOR to enable their AR8600 MkII to be able to decode the APCO25 digital voice transmissions (conventional mode) on their receiver. Please note that this board does not enable trunk tracking. While we have sold many of the AR8600 MkII receivers over the years, this is the first that we have ever encountered this board. It is unlikely that we will ever have another one to offer as this board has been unavailable to purchase for a few years and it is difficult to imagine that someone else may have one of these sitting uninstalled in a drawer or bin. In revisiting Universal Radio’s website from 2013, we can see that the selling price at that time was $249.95. Our price reflects both the cost for us to acquire plus the current unavailability of this board from any source.As you can see when viewing the pictures, we unpacked the original packaging to enable us to take a couple of pictures of the board along with the installation instructions, hardware, and connectors. While the installation does not appear to be too challenging, if you struggle with a soldering iron and managing things of this nature, you’ll likely want to have some assistance from someone who can help you with the installation.On the last page of the installation instructions, it mentions that once the board is installed, you merely need to tune to an APCO25 signal, place the receiver in NFM mode, and the audio will automatically come out of the receiver.
