Great Opportunity! Ideal for Photo students and or collectors Estate Final liquidation sale/ No returns>No refunds> This is a somehow rare Asahi Pentax K1000, most likely came right after the Spotmatic models because it shares some components, such as early winding lever and film reminder ring under rewind knob.Also the lens is the Made in Japan 55mm f/2.0( heavier and more elements, the later lenses were 50mm and more compact.This lens will accept filters with a 52mm thread. Original Cap is also included. The multicoating of the lens is superb and they have no visible defects nor fungus. This camera is for sale in the way it was found at the Estate. We did not service nor refurbished it.We noticed that for winding and to complete the cycle is better to apply two short strokes to the winding lever.THE LIGHT METER DOES NOT WORK, but really is not needed if the Sunny 16 rule is applied or a hand held meter is used instead. Sunny 16 : with ISO 400 film, shutter speed at 500 with F 16 with Sun at noon time no clouds or cloudy day you could use shutter at 250 and f 11 or f 8. Basic and never fails.The viewfinder and prism are all clear with no signs of desilvering. However the screen has a few tiny spots that will not affect the pictures.Mirror, bumper and seals are in good shape and not degrading ( most likely they were serviced at some time).The Lens is in excellent condition for its age, no fungus and very clean. very precise focusing ring and it functions perfectly.There are some scuff marks on top and bottom plate.We are also adding at no charge a vintage old ( pre-owned) factory thin strap. ( not installed). Camera is wonderful and shows little careful use. The focusing screen and viewfinder are perfect and clear, super bright prism and mirror, small black little specs of dust can be seen. No dents. Only very minor scuff marks on bottom plate.All leatherette coverings are in place as they should. Wow ! what a great camera this is, you will certainly love it ! What you see is what you will get.Lens is clean and sharp,Considering everything, this camera is a great opportunity for a collector or a photo student, and it’s capable of producing excellent images in black and white or color film.We ship fast and securely from South Florida.
