Copper Rivets & Burrs #12 Choice of Length: 3/8″ 1/2″ 5/8″ 3/4″ 1″for Saddlery, Leatherworking, Knivemaking, SCA Belts These superior quality two part fasteners are made in the USA by an Amish manufacturer and are of the highest quality. Having long used these fasteners over several decades, we decided to offer them to the general public as they are great to work with. This style of rivet is a two part with rivet and burr. The rivet is inserted through the materials that you wish to connect and then the burr is forced down onto the shaft of the rivet to form an interference fit. The shaft of the rivet that extends past the burr is trimmed as needed and then peined with a hammer to mushroom it and lock it permanently in place. Our rivets are shipped with the corresponding # of burrs included but you can also buy more here if you’d like. These copper rivets and burrs are a 99.9% purity solid ( CDA 110) and will not corrode. They are superior heavy-duty fasteners useful for: Medieval armor building such as the SCA/MSR/WMA Leather craft Bike seats Tack and harness construction and repair Vintage wood boat repair and joinery Saddlery Dimension Specifics: Rivets:.137″ for the body (shaft) diameter .375″ for the head diameter .045 for the head height Burrs .360″ for the Outside Diameter .124″ for the Inside Diameter .028″ for the Thickness We now offer Burrs sold separately. There are more than 1000 in a lb. Burrs Dimensions are .438″ Outside Diameter, .146″ Inside Diameter, & .040″ thickness. All +/- manufacturing tolerances. Quantities are based upon industry standards. We don’t hand count each box, however we do guarantee that the overall weight delivered is as promised. Please note, we sell rivets by both weight and count. We think that the above counts represent a fair average but if you need a certain number for your project we encourage you to order a bit more to handle variability and possible challenges in successfully setting the rivet on your work. Rivet Count One pound of 3/8″ (9.53 mm) length #12 copper leather rivets contains about 290 sets. One pound of 1/2″ (12.7 mm) length #12 copper leather rivets contains about 247 sets. One pound of 5/8″ (15.875 mm) length #12 copper leather rivets contains about 215 sets. One pound of 3/4″ (19.05 mm) length #12 copper leather rivets contains about 183 sets. One pound of 1″ (25.4 mm) length #12 copper leather rivets contains about 143 sets.Advertised length is the measurement from the face of the rivet head to the tip. While a belt rivet of this type does tend to settle into the surface of the leather, you will want to take this into account when selecting. Longer is not a problem as you’ll most often trim before peining. Variety Packs Responding to the demand for an “all sizes” option, we now offer the VARIETY PACK which will be include each of the sizes with burrs in indiviual bags. For example, purchasing the Variety Pack with 10 count will have us send a 10 pack of #12 Copper Rivets & Burrs in each of these sizes. Setting Tool sold seperately.3/8″1/2″5/8″3/4″1″ Tool Options: Side Strike and End Strike Burr Setting Tools: To better meet the needs of our customers, we also offer two tool options for setting the burr in place.The Stainless-Steel side-strike rivet and burr setting tool is made in China and can be used on #12 & #9 size rivets.The case hardened steel – end strike is also made in China and has a light knurled cross sections for solid grip and is rivet size specific to the #12.Both of these are available for purchase in the drop down menu.
