This is a handmade frameset built by famous frame builder David Tesch in the late 80s/early 90s. It is filet brazed from American Made True Temper S22 steel tubing. It is a 58cm per the stamping on the bottom bracket shell, however the top tube is 56cm center to center, so I consider it a 56 by normal standards. It is in excellent used condition and has seen very few miles over the years. This frame was built in Dave’s shop in San Marcos, CA north of San Diego. This is a true survivor frameset with the original paint in excellent glossy condition with only a few minor scratches and nicks as outlined in the pictures. Not something you often find with steel frames. This would be perfect for a retromod with updated components. Or restore it with period correct components. Either way you will be turning heads when riding it amongst all the cookie cutter carbon bikes out there.Here are the flaws I have found in the paint (see pictures): there is a nick that has been touched up on the left side of the down tube near the bottom bracket, there is a nick that has been touched up on the right seat stay near the brake bridge, there is some tire rub on the inside of the left side chain stay, and there are some shallow scratches in the front of the head tube. For more information on David Tesch please check Dave Moulton’s Bike Blog. He was a talented frame builder who built bikes for Trek and Masi before launching his own brand. He even built frames under the John Howard brand and for Specialized. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2003 at the young age of 44. Dimensions (based on my measurements): Top Tube C-C 56 cm Seat Tube C-T 58 cmSeat Tube C-C 56.5 cm Chainstay C-C 42 cm Head tube 15.5 cmBottom Bracket: English thread, 68mm wide Rear wheel spacing: 127mm (can be spread to accommodate a 130mm hub, or cold set at any width you want by a competent bicycle shop. I’m including a very nice Dura Ace 7400 headset installed. It is a 1″ headtube for a quill type stem. But if you want to use a 1-1/8″ threadless stem, you can use a quill to threadless adapter.
