Her career apparently ended in 1984 when she married and moved to Alaska where she started her family of nine children. Tragically, she was murdered by a family acquaintance at the young age of 50. The issue also highlights winning bodybuilder Debbie Basile, noted for her enviable muscle density and thickness, particularly for her 5′ 1″ 105 pound frame. Noted in this publication she was available for exhibitions and seminars and intended to continue to compete. Additional features include Canadian rhythmic gymnastics champion, Debbie Bryant; track and field winner, Peggy Smith, who intends to live to be 100; photos of female bodybuilder Laurie Knecht, which “truly express the womanly beauty of the muscular female physique,” and lastly, a brief photographic article on Lori Bowen Rice, one of the most promising “rising stars” in women’s bodybuilding, Densely illustrated.
