Tamiya 1/32 Aircraft Series No. 27 US Navy Vought F4U-1D Corsair Plastic Model 60327About this product- Plastic model that requires assembly and painting.- Separate tools, paints, etc. required.- 1/32 scale- Two types of markings includedProduct Introduction[Fighter-bomber type that played a part in the aircraft carrier force] In the latter half of World War II, the U.S.Navy’s Corsair overwhelmed the Japanese military with its high speed and heavy armament. Among them, the F4U-1D was the first to be officially adopted as an aircraft carrier-based aircraft in April 1944.It features a semi-bubble-type canopy without window frames, a propeller that thickens from the base, and a cockpit that is elevated to improve visibility. In addition to six 12.7mm machine guns in the wings,two pylons on the underside of the inner wing can carry up to 2,000 pounds of armament and drop tanks, and eight rockets can be mounted on the outer wing. In February 1945, it played a part in the aircraft carrier force,becoming the first U.S. carrier-based aircraft to attack the Japanese mainland. [Model Specifications] This is a plastic model assembly kit of the F4U-1D, the first aircraft to be installed on an aircraft carrier as a carrier-based aircraft.★1/32 scale, total length 318mm, total width 390mm.★The characteristics of the F4U-1D, such as the frameless semi-bubble canopy and the wide propeller, are faithfully reproduced.★The flaps and elevators can be raised or lowered.★The two-piece engine cowl can be removed even after completion.★The main landing gear and tail wheel can be displayed in either parked or flying state.★In addition to two drop tanks and two 1,000-pound bombs, parts for eight rockets are also included.★Two types of markings for aircraft belonging to the US Navy and Marine Corps are included. [Features]●The main wings can be assembled in either the unfolded or folded state. ●The frameless semi-bubble canopy, a characteristic of the F4U-1D, is accurately modeled.●The propeller, which becomes thicker from the base, is also a highlight. ●The underside of the outer wing can carry eight rockets, which were effective in ground attacks.
