eBay This is a first-generation COPY of a signed 1981 script from THE JEFFERSONS TV series (not a transcript or Photoshop recreation). The original was signed by Marla Gibbs (Florence) and writer Jay Moriarty. A copy is being offered here. The 48-page comedy script is from the seventh season finale titled “Florence’s New Job, Part II”. The story: The Jeffersons’ maid takes a job as the executive housekeeper for a fictional New York hotel and has to deal with a stuffy manager (MASH’s Larry Linville) and maids who are friends and taking advantage of her. The episode also features Sherman Hemsley, Isabel Sanford, and Liz Torres. This is the second part of a backdoor pilot for a spin-off series called CHECKING IN. The show ran for four episodes over the summer and was cancelled. So, Florence returned to work for the Jeffersons in season eight, explaining that the hotel had burned down. The script’s cover has been reproduced in color and an acetate sheet has been added to keep it looking pristine (to be honest, it looks better than the original). The script pages are printed on one side. Great care has been taken to make this a piece that a collector will be proud to own and show off or frame.
