Brian James, an avid archer himself and owner of Titus Innovations concluded if an insert could be developed that would provide the strength of steel and the weight of aluminum that micro diameter carbon fiber arrow shafts, such as the Victory VAP Arrow, would become the World’s most sought after arrows. The objective was simple: Develop a tip mount for a carbon fiber arrow shaft that will give under stress when entering a target protecting the shaft. The tip must be aerodynamic using a tapered exterior to communicate between the arrow shaft exterior and the rear of the tip or engaged weight there between causing the tip upon entry to give under stress and then return to its original shape. The only material that will meet all of these specifications is Titanium; it has memory and will move back to its original shape. Hours of field testing has shown under normal shooting conditions the same arrow has been shot hundreds of times and the titanium insert is as straight today as it was new. By using the industry standard thread in the tip of the insert the archer could screw in a tip of choice and adjust the weight of the arrow to his or her specifications. One would have the option of using the same arrow for hunting, field shooting and/or target shooting. All of the objectives have been met when using titanium to make the insert.
