Vintage French “French Poodle” Majolica Knife Rests, Stamped “Vallauris”, 6 pcs These six delightful French majolica knife rests are in the shape of French poodles! Three are burgundy and three are green. Each piece is slightly different from the others, with white accents on the glazing. All piece are signed on the back, “Vallauris”. Vallauris, on the French Riviera, has been a ceramic producing center since the late 19th century and became well known in the 1950’s with the arrival of world famous artists such as Picasso, who did his ceramic creations there. These pieces are in very good condition with the exception of one piece that has some chips on the glazing and the head has been re-attached. This set will be a delightful addition to your table!
