Hello ! Up for sale is a terrific electric guitar by Washburn … the Nuno Bettencourt Model ! I am pretty sure from the headstock and the back neck plate and all of the other markings and features on this axe that what we have here is an N2 model. And the serial # beginning with a “2” puts its manufacture at 1992 perhaps? It is so cool to be able to channel your inner Nuno / Extreme with this instrument ! The Bill Lawrence pickups really sound good on this model. The neck position is super loud and clear. Actually very nice for smooth solos! The double blade bridge pickup has that nice bite at the full position that you would expect. But it also has a nice, almost out of phase tone when you flip to the middle position. Utilize the available coil splitting option for the bridge pick up and you can get some really nice, jangly almost acoustic guitar like clean sounds ! The action on this guitar is currently nice, especially considering that I think it’s got 10’s on it for strings. I think if you really want to fully shred on this one, you would have to restring it with at most 9’s and possibly need to reset the Floyd Rose licensed system. Speaking of which, we have tried to get the Floyd bridge level. The buyer might have to add another spring if they are anal about that kind of thing. A trem blocker was installed aftermarket in the back cavity, so you can still dive bomb to your hearts content (yay!), but the movement of being able to pull up the trem arm to sharpen a note is limited. We are going to leave it on there so the lucky buyer can have it if they want it. It looks fairly easy enough to remove if you have smaller, more precise tools. (i.e. wrench and screwdriver. Please see the 2nd to last pic if you want to know what the blocker looks like.) I’m guessing a previous owner wanted the guitar to stay in tune better after using the tremolo. Because, let me tell you, this guitar stays in tune very well, even after you have engaged in some EXTREME crazy whammy bar antics! Speaking of that, we have also tweaked the intonation on the 5th or A string as well as the 6th or low E string. So now, the guitar has even improved tuning stability, in addition to the guitar being intonated pretty much spot on ! This gem would be a great addition to anyone’s collection, complete with tremolo arm and original case …. so grab it now before someone else does !!!!!
