eBay Wedgwood Mirabelle Bone China Spade Shaped Trinket Box w/ Lid ~ Made in England Description: Offered is an exquisite example of Wedgwood design and craftsmanship. A delicate floral pattern on the lid is surrounded by an equally ornate perimeter design. The outside edge of the lid has a bright gold band that visually sets it apart from the box below. The box itself is decorated around the outside with a matching floral pattern. The pastel floral graphics contrast beautifully against the classic white porcelain background. The inside is white as well. Both lid and box are identified with the number “37”. Interesting fact: Wedgwood released this as a series of four (4), one in the shape of each of the original French playing card suits i.e., Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades. Although the Hearts are relatively easy to locate, the other three are difficult at best and a near MINT find would be RARE indeed! Condition: Near MINT in every manner. There are NO chips, cracks, crazing, scratches, stains, water marks, discoloration or any other cosmetic issues. The band of gold rim trim is intact with the exception of a small piece at the base of the lid. See image 2 toward the right-hand end. The bottomstamp is clear, legible and reads “[Logo] WEDGWOOD ~ Bone China ~ Made in England ~ Mirabelle ©”. Even the rough exposed ceramic base ring that normally shows some scuffing and/or discoloration remains clean. The only reason I downgraded this to “near” mint is the slight wear on the gold rim trim. The price has been reduced appropriately.
