To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives. This WWII US M1 Garand or US M1903 Springfield Bayonet belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside vintage military items over the years. This blade was on display with a WWII M1 Garand Rifle. It was directly purchased from a US Army Vet years ago. This particular bayonet was manufactured by PAL Blade Company during WWII and is the original 10 inch version produced from 1943 onward. Showing light/average use/wear the blade retains most all of the original dark parkerized finish (see photos). It appears very lightly sharpened long ago (hard to even tell) and doesn’t have a sharp edge now. Ricasso has makers name (PAL) and US with the ordnance mark to one side (see photos). Pommel & crossguard have most all finish remaining overall as well (see photos). Grips are the black plastic type, are clean/tight & remain solid/intact with no dings or cracks (see photos). Spring loaded release button is present above the crossguard and works perfectly. Crossguard is tight and doesn’t wobble. The scabbard is very clean/solid overall – no edge cracks or excessively worn areas. Most all of the olive drab paint remains to the body and there is a Victory Plastic production logo to the reverse (see photos). Top fitting is clean overall, is marked US and has the utility belt hook to the reverse (see photos). This is a super clean WWII M1 Garand Bayonet by PAL Blade Company. It shows light/average use/wear, makes an excellent presentation and is guaranteed to be an original period piece as described. Great opportunity to complete a display with tough to find PAL M1 bayonet. Really a super piece overall.
